In Social Media 102 we will review common social media strategies, share case studies and best practices.  We will review strategies for increasing group interactivity in any content platform.  Bring your questions, your ideas and your strategies to share with the group.  If you would like to share your social media success stories or ask questions on how to take your social media strategy to the next level bring your existing links and we can review them in a group setting.

Julie Arnold, Social Media Manager, Griffin Integrated Marketing
Julie has 17 years of experience in developing advertising, public relations and marketing solutions for clients in a broad range of industries.  As Griffin’s Social Media Manger, she develops strategy, defines tools and tactics, trains and consults with clients on all aspects of online media and social networking.  Julie joined Griffin in December 2005.  Agency highlights include overseeing online strategy, grassroots, event marketing, Web site content, social and e-marketing for the Coalition for Space Exploration, as well as developing and implementing a statewide marketing campaign in Florida for the Technological Research and Development Authority, which resulted in a 764% increase in media relations exposure in a two-year time span.

David Waters, Founder, David Waters Productions
David is a reporter, public relations professional, and runs his own multimedia video production company, David Waters Productions. For more than a decade, he was a daily presence on local tv when he reported for News 13 and ran the Brevard County bureau. He also appeared for most of that time on CNN and continues to appear on the network to this day.  These days, you’ll find him running David Waters Productions, where he puts his years of local and national media experience to use by helping companies get noticed through public relations events, video products, and interactive social media.  You can still see him on SpaceflightNow.com where he coanchors a live interactive shuttle launch show that he helped create.  It is seen in 181 countries by more than half a million people.

All A-Twitter about Social Media 101 program!

Attendees at the September 16th professional development luncheon were introduced to the world of online dialoguing, courtesy of Julie Arnold, Social Media Manager with Griffin Marketing.

Julie explained that social media is not for amateurs… The well-known we have all heard about (YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, Flickr) and the lesser-known but no less powerful (StumbleUpon, Digg, Radian6) tools of the trade are NOT just a fad, but valuable content platforms that YOU should be using in your public relations plans.
